On Friday night, Bellator’s Showtime tenure came to an end with an incredible upset. In the main event of Bellator 301, Jason Jackson won the welterweight world championship after taking advantage of a flat Yaroslav Amosov with a third-round TKO.
Amosov attempted multiple takedowns early on, but Jackson was able to stop him while executing some excellent combinations. Jackson then proceeded to stuff Amosov’s takedown attempts round after round, punishing Amosov with forceful punches delivered from a distance. That would finally come to pass in the third round when Jackson caught Amosov off guard with a powerful right hand that knocked him to the canvas.
At 2:08 of Round 3, Jackson landed hard blows on the ground, sending Amosov face-planting on the mat. This ended Amosov’s run of undefeated fights and improved his record to 27-1.

Jackson pulled off the shock as a +400 underdog after Amosov failed to land any of his 13 takedown attempts.
Jackson has already won seven straight fights, defeating well-known opponents including Amosov, Douglas Lima, Paul Daley, Neiman Gracie, and Benson Henderson.
In the co-main event, Patchy Mix defeated Sergio Pettis in the second round to unify his interim bantamweight belt with the world title, marking the greatest victory of his career.
In the Bantamweight World Grand Prix final, Mix defeated Raufeon Stots via knockout to take the interim championship and a $1 million reward. His ultimate objective was to capture the world title, which he accomplished with dominance over Pettis, who was forced to withdraw from the Grand Prix due to injury.
In the first round, Mix utilised his exceptional grappling abilities to dominate the fight on the ground, but he was unable to establish a genuinely dominant position and push for the finish before the bell rang. That was not the case in Round 2, when at 1:51 he managed to force the tap after taking the fight to the floor and establishing back control. He then locked in a body triangle and secured the neck.

Because Mix used his long limbs to deliver kicks and always had the possibility of a takedown that would send the fight straight to Pettis’ world, Pettis was similarly locked in neutral on the feet.
Now that he has the world title, Mix, who weighs 135 pounds, is unquestionably among the best in the world. He stated he doesn’t care who challenges for the title first.
In his post-fight interview, Mix stated, “It doesn’t matter, man.” “I’m the world’s greatest. 135 I’m the world’s greatest. I was going to thrash his ass, no matter if you sent King Kong in here tonight.”
