Brendan Allen is still doing his best at overwhelming and suffocating opponents. In the main event of UFC Fight Night on Saturday, Allen defeated Paul Craig via rear-naked choke for the fourth time in a row.

On the surface, Allen vs. Craig seemed intriguing: two skilled grapplers who were willing to fight. Both men used strong submission manoeuvres in the first round, but Allen was the more skilled fighter overall. Allen maintained top position in every frame and delivered the stronger blows. Allen stunned Craig early in Round 3 with a series of punches before snagging his trademark takedown.

Although Allen is positioned just outside of the official UFC middleweight Top 10, he is adamant about moving up the ranks.

“Man, I’m attempting to fight. In his post-fight interview, Allen declared, “I want to be the top contender.” “I’m here to show you that I’m the greatest person alive. Don’t tell me if you say otherwise; come show me.

“I haven’t even reached my prime yet. I’m an f—ing problem, and I’m coming.”

Allen (23-5) is fast making a name for himself as one of the league’s top chokers. With six consecutive victories under his belt, Allen has stopped five opponents with rear-naked chokes. As a middleweight in the UFC, he is ranked No. 10 and is ready to challenge the top. Craig (17-7-1) had a 10-year career at light heavyweight; he is now 1-1 after moving down to middleweight.
